Baking Carol's Zombie Apocalypse Cookies
Courtesy of AMC's The Walking Dead, we now have the recipe for Carol's cookies. So let's start up those ovens and serve up a sweet apocalypse treat the whole family will love!
Serving: a dozen cookies
Ingredients: 1/4 cup of applesause, 1/4 large chocolate bar, 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder, 1/4 teaspon of baking soda, 1/4 cup shortening, 1 cup flour, 1/8 teaspon of salt, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup white sugar, 1/4 teaspon vanilla
Directions:

Preheat oven to bake at 350 F.

In a large bowl, combine applesauce, shortening, brown sugar, white sugar. Mix until shortening is blended.

Add baking powder, baking soda, flour, salt, and vanilla.

Mix until doughy and flour is fully absorbed.

Let dough stand for three to five minutes.

Melt chocolate.

Add chocolate to dough and mix until fully blended.

Place golf ball-sized dollops of dough - about two inches apart on a non-stick cookie sheet.

Back at 350 F for 11-13 minutes.

Remove from oven and leave on cookie sheet to cool.
